4 Hour Workshop – Connect Before You Correct

Every parent knows the moment: a child melting down, and the instinct to fix it, explain it, or stop it right now. But a dysregulated nervous system can’t take in logic, a plan, or a consequence until it feels it’s been seen, understood, and accepted first. Connect Before You Correct is Dr Faiza Khan’s parenting workshop, built on the Australian Childhood Foundation’s Bringing Up Great Kids framework — delivered by Dr Khan as an accredited BUGK facilitator — and woven through with the PACE framework (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and values work drawn from ACT.

It doesn’t teach you to manage behaviour from the outside. It teaches you to understand what’s happening underneath it, and to lead with connection first — so that correction, when it’s needed, actually lands.

The workshop runs as a single, focused four-hour in-person session. To make the most of the time together, attendees are asked to complete a short set of pre-reading materials before the day — sent out once enrolment is confirmed — so the session itself can stay hands-on, discussion-based, and practical.

One fee covers a family enrolment — either one parent or carer, or both partners from the same household, are welcome to attend together.

Early bird $349 AUD — available until 12 September 2026 (4 weeks before the workshop)
Standard $449 AUD

Enrolment is only confirmed upon receipt of payment. Workshop materials and pre-reading are sent out after payment is received. Fees are non-refundable.

Hampstead Medical Centre, Maidstone — Conference Room

Capped at 20 attendees, for a small group with maximum opportunity for interaction

Session structure — 9:30am to 1:30pm

Building on the pre-reading, the workshop brings the core Connect Before You Correct concepts to life through guided discussion, reflection, and practical application — brain-based parenting fundamentals, family values, communication, feelings and repair, and attachment.

The final 30 minutes (1:00pm – 1:30pm) is set aside for an open Q&A with Dr Khan.

Because the pre-reading and workshop materials are provided digitally upon payment, enrolment fees cannot be refunded once payment has been received.
